SHELBY ANNOUNCES OVER $180,000 FOR CLAYTON DOWNTOWN REVITALIZATION

U.S. Senator Richard C. Shelby (R-AL), Chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Treasury, and General Government, announced today that the Department of Transportation will be releasing $180,263 for Clayton downtown revitalization. As Chairman for the Subcommittee, Senator Shelby secured these funds in the fiscal year 2004 appropriations process.

These funds, which will help with planning, design, administration, management and construction, will enhance and revitalize the downtown area of Clayton.

Sen. Shelby said, “These funds include $180,263 for the revitalization of Clayton’s downtown area, including the town square and Eufaula Avenue. I am pleased that the residents of Clayton will have the opportunity to take advantage of these improvements in the near future.”
