SHELBY ANNOUNCES $99,748 FOR THE PINE GROVE VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT IN BALDWIN COUNTY

WASHINGTON, DC -- U.S. Senator Richard C. Shelby (R-AL) today announced that the Pine Grove Volunteer Fire Department in Baldwin County will receive $99,748 in federal funds to assist with operations and firefighter safety. These funds are available for training and fitness, protective equipment, and modifications to fire stations and facilities.

These funds have been awarded by the Department of Homeland Security’s Office for Domestic Preparedness, as a part of the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program. This program will distribute $750 million in direct federal assistance to firefighters nationwide this year.

“This is great news for the Pine Grove Volunteer Fire Department. This grant provides critical support for our firefighters, and I am pleased that the Department of Homeland Security is following through on its commitment to our nation’s first responders,” Sen. Shelby said.
