This grant will help identify the causes of youth violence, develop research-based interventions that reduce the rate of youth violence, and test the effectiveness of the violence prevention methods. This is an ultidisciplinary initiative that will be supporting research from a number of different fields of study.
Sen. Shelby said, “I am pleased to announce $791,582 for the University of South Alabama Youth Violence Prevention Initiative. It is important that we continue to research ways to prevent and protect children from violence.”
