SHELBY ANNOUNCES MILITARY FUNDING FOR MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE IN MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA

U.S. Senator Richard C. Shelby (R-AL) announces conference committee approval of the Military Construction Appropriations Bill for Fiscal Year 2003. Included in the bill at the request of Senator Shelby is significant military funding for Alabama and for Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama.

The bill includes $225,000 for Family Housing Construction Improvements at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama. The funds will be used to make necessary housing modifications and infrastructure improvements.

"I am pleased to announce these funds for Maxwell Air Force Base," said Shelby. "These funds represent our continuing commitment to our nation's security and to the men and women who serve our country."

The Military Construction Appropriations Bill for Fiscal Year 2003 includes $23 million for Alabama Military Construction projects.
