U.S. Senator Richard C. Shelby (R-Ala), a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced today that $298,230 is being released from the Department of Education for the University of West Alabama. Senator Shelby secured these funds in the Fiscal Year 2004 Consolidated Appropriations Act.

Sen. Shelby said, “I am pleased to announce that this important funding is now available for the University of West Alabama. These funds will assist the university with its efforts to provide a comprehensive technological environment, providing a seamless flow of information between students, faculty, and professional staff, and the networking infrastructure.”

Specifically, these funds will allow for the purchase and installation of an integrated administrative software system that includes recruiting, registration, student records, financial aid, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, asset management and similar functions.
