Shelby: End Cap-and-Trade for Good

U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.) today cosponsored the Energy Tax Prevention Act of 2011.  Senator Shelby released the following statement regarding the legislation:

“I firmly oppose President Obama’s backdoor attempt to impose cap-and-trade via regulatory fiat.  I support the Energy Tax Prevention Act of 2011 because it protects American businesses and consumers from higher energy costs.  A temporary two-year delay of cap-and-trade regulations, as proposed by the Obama Administration, is insufficient and will perpetuate high unemployment and hinder economic growth.  The Energy Tax Prevention Act of 2011 will eliminate these regulations for good.”
