U.S. Senator Richard C. Shelby (R-AL) today announced the availability of disaster assistance funds for Alabamians affected by recent drought conditions.
"I am pleased the Farm Service Agency has finally made these funds available to Alabamians in need," said Shelby. "Those farmers affected by recent drought conditions should contact their local Farm Service Agency offices today to check on the status of their disaster assistance applications."
The United States Department of Agriculture notified Senator Shelby today that local Farm Service Agency offices will begin the process of distributing disaster assistance payments as early as the afternoon of Friday, March 16.
