U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), ranking member of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice and Science, today announced that the Department of Justice will award $75,613 to the United Way of Southeast Alabama for the Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) Initiative.
“We must do all we can to keep our communities safe and eliminate crime from our streets,” said Shelby. “Project Safe Neighborhoods plays an important role in the fight against gun crime and gang activities in our communities. This funding will be used to continue efforts to decrease violent crime and educate children and at-risk youth about the dangers of gang.”
