SHELBY ANNOUNCES FEMA MEETING FOR DISASTER CONTRACTORS IN MONTGOMERY

WASHINGTON, DC -- U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-AL) today announced that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will host a meeting for disaster contractors in Montgomery. The meeting will explain the types of disaster work opportunities that may be available following Hurricane Katrina.

Senator Shelby said, “I am pleased that FEMA is hosting this important meeting for interested contractors. Following Hurricane Katrina, there have been many contractors interested in assisting in the recovery efforts, and this meeting will provide necessary information to learn the appropriate application process for the recovery efforts. I hope that those who are interested take advantage of this opportunity.” The meeting will be held at the Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church, 6000 Atlanta Highway in Montgomery on Thursday, October 6 at 1:00 p.m. Due to limited seating, interested contractors are requested to confirm their attendance by calling 334-244-5917, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT.

At the session, FEMA contract specialists will provide a basic disaster process overview, outline bidding procedures and answer audience questions.
