SHELBY ANNOUNCES MILITARY FUNDING FOR MOBILE

U.S. Senator Richard C. Shelby (R-AL) announces the Senate Appropriations Committee's passage of the Military Construction Appropriations Bill for Fiscal Year 2002. Included in the bill at the request of Senator Shelby is significant military funding for Alabama and for Mobile.

The bill includes $5.333 million for the Alabama Army National Guard for modifications and additions to the National Guard Readiness Center in Mobile. A total of $105.581 million for Alabama military constructions projects is included in the bill.

"I am pleased to announce these funds for Mobile," said Shelby. "These funds represent our continuing commitment to our nation's security and to the men and women who serve our country."
