Coffee County Native Receives Nomination to U.S. Military Academy

U. S. Sen. Richard C. Shelby (R-Ala.) today announced that Christopher Carter of Enterprise, AL has been nominated to the United States Military Academy. Senator Shelby nominates students every year to the U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Military Academy, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. Christopher, the son of Ronald and Elaine Carter, is a student at Enterprise High School.

Senator Shelby said, “Furthering one’s education at our nation’s service academies is remarkable. Christopher has shown exemplary performance in the classroom and in his extracurricular activities. The selection process for the academies is extremely competitive, and I am pleased that Christopher has been nominated.”

Service academy nominees must be residents of Alabama and must complete the required ACT and SAT exams. Applicants are also required to provide letters of recommendation, their school transcript, completed medical examination, and the required application form.

Although Senator Shelby has made the nomination, the United States Military Academy still has final selection.
