U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), ranking member of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice and Science, today announced that the Department of Labor will award $1 million to the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs for dislocated worker demonstration projects.
“Alabama is fortunate to have a strong workforce,” said Shelby. “To keep our workforce strong, we must provide conditions that allow willing workers to find jobs. This important grant will provide Alabama’s dislocated workers the opportunity to enhance employment skills so that they may find satisfying high-wage jobs.”
