SHELBY ANNOUNCES OVER $400,000 FOR FRANKLIN FIELD IN UNION SPRINGS

U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-AL), a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced today that Franklin Field in Union Springs will receive $403,000 from the Federal Aviation Administration for improvements to the airport.

Senator Shelby said, “I am pleased to make this announcement for Franklin Field. These funds will be used to acquire land needed for approach protection at the airport to enhance safety of operations. I was pleased to play a role in securing these funds so Franklin Field may make these necessary improvements.”

This funding, which was secured in the federal appropriations process, will be administered through the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Improvement Program (AIP).
