WASHINGTON, D. C.--- U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-AL), a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced today that the City of Tuscaloosa will receive $150,000 from the Federal Aviation Administration for improvements to the Tuscaloosa Regional Airport.

Senator Shelby said, “I am pleased to make this announcement for the Tuscaloosa Regional Airport. These funds will be used to help the airport upgrade its fire response capabilities by expanding the airport’s rescue and fire fighting building. I was pleased to play a role in securing these funds so the airport may continue work on its improvement efforts.”

This funding, which was secured in the federal appropriations process, will be administered through the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Improvement Program (AIP).
