SHELBY ANNOUNCES $50,000 GRANT FOR HOOVER CITY SCHOOLS

U.S. Senator Richard C. Shelby (R-Ala) announced today that the U.S. Department of Education will soon be releasing $50,000 to the Hoover City Schools for the Smaller Learning Communities Program.

The program will promote academic achievement through planning and implementation of smaller learning environments in large public high schools. This will help ensure that all students graduate with the knowledge and skills necessary to make successful transitions to college and careers.

Senator Shelby said, "I am pleased to make this announcement for the Hoover City Schools. When we invest in our children and education systems, we invest in the future of our country. These funds will help the students of Hoover City Schools be better prepared for college and the work force after graduation."
