U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will award $6,073,401 to the Alabama Department of Public Health for the HHS Hospital Preparedness Program.
“It is critical that our hospitals are well equipped to respond to any emergency that may occur,” said Shelby. “We must do all we can to ensure the safety of all Americans during an emergency. This important funding will help train and prepare Alabama’s hospitals to adequately respond in the event of a bioterrorism or other public health emergency.”
