SHELBY ANNOUNCES $49,998 FOR ALABAMA CRIMINAL JUSTICE INFORMATION CENTER

WASHINGTON, D. C. – U.S. Senator Richard C. Shelby (R-Ala) announced today that the U.S. Department of Justice will soon be releasing $49,998 for the Alabama Criminal Justice Information Center.

The Alabama Statistical Analysis Center (SAC) will use these funds to develop, distribute, collect, and analyze Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) data through an online reporting system. The information compiled by the SAC is based on crime data reported by local law enforcement agencies and is used to produce the annual Crime in Alabama publication which details the States uniform crime statistics.

Sen. Shelby said, “I am pleased to announce $49,998 for the Alabama Criminal Justice Information Center. The information compiled by SAC will provide law enforcement throughout Alabama the most accurate and comprehensive information available to enable them to better protect our communities.”
