This subcommittee will provide me an opportunity to immerse myself in new issues that have great importance to Alabama and the nation. The subcommittee's jurisdiction includes the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the Economic Development Authority (EDA), the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and the Department of Justice among others.”
“My tenure as Chairman of the Transportation, Treasury and General Government Subcommittee gave me the opportunity to assist the state of Alabama in extraordinary ways. We made great progress in infrastructure development, airport expansion, and higher education development. As a member of the Transportation, Treasury, and Housing Subcommittee, I will continue to support infrastructure development in Alabama,” Shelby concluded.
Senator Shelby will remain a member of the following subcommittees: Defense; Foreign Operations; Homeland Security; Labor, Health and Human Services, Education; and Transportation, Treasury, Judiciary and HUD.
