U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the Department of Transportation's Federal Highway Administration has awarded $52,000 to the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) for educational training.
“Each year, thousands of Americans travel on Alabama’s scenic byways,” said Shelby. “ALDOT will use this funding to ensure travelers along Alabama’s roadways have a positive visitor experience and that Alabama’s byway advocates are knowledgeable, informed, and educated about our scenic roads so that they can provide good information to travelers. It is important to Alabama’s tourism industry that we do all we can to provide a positive visitor experience for our tourists.”
