U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will award $199,997 to the Alabama Coalition Against Domestic Violence. This funding will be used for the Family Violence Prevention and Services Program. Senator Shelby was instrumental in securing this funding.
“It is terrible to be a victim of domestic violence,” said Shelby. “We must do all we can help those who experience domestic violence while also working to prevent this crime from ever happening. This grant will support efforts by the Alabama Coalition Against Domestic Violence to combat domestic violence and provide a safe haven for victims.”
