U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration has awarded $39,631 to Roundtree Field in Hartselle, Alabama for the installation of perimeter fencing to prevent unauthorized access to the airport operational areas.
“Local airports serve as an important development tool for our state’s smaller communities and we must continue to expand and upgrade them to serve the growing demand,” said Shelby. “Roundtree Field will use this funding for the installation of fencing around the perimeter of the airport. These improvements will allow the airport to ensure the safety of those traveling to and from the area.”
