U.S. Senator Richard C. Shelby today announced Rural Development funds for projects in Foster, Lewiston, and Ralph, Alabama. The Fosters-Ralph Water Authority will be awarded a loan of $1.153 million and a grant of $600,000.
The funds will be used to extend water service to 175 residential customers and one commercial customer. The project involves construction of a well to provide water to residents in the Lewiston area, and a SCADA Telemetary System to assist in monitoring pump stations and tanks within the system.
"I am pleased to announce this funding for these communities in Greene and Tuscaloosa counties," said Shelby. "These funds will allow the local water authority to provide water to residents in the Lewiston area, and will assist in their efforts to monitor their water system."
