SEN. SHELBY COMMENTS ON DEATH OF TERRY LYNCH

U. S. Sen. Richard C. Shelby (R-Ala.) today expressed his sorrow over the death of long-time former staffer Terry Lynch. Mr. Lynch was employed at Booz Allen and Hamilton, and was at the Pentagon yesterday during the terrorist attacks which claimed the lives of many innocent Americans. Mr. Lynch worked for Sen. Shelby for over 15 years, and also served former Republican Congressman John Buchanan, a member of the U. S. House of Representatives from Alabama.

Sen. Shelby said, "Unfortunately, as part of yesterday's national tragedy, a former employee of mine, Terry Lynch, was killed at the Pentagon. Terry started working for me in 1982 in the U. S. House of Representatives and continued to work for me as my legislative assistant in the U. S. Senate. He also worked for me on the Select Committee on Intelligence."

"Terry was a good father and husband, a valued employee, and he was a great American. My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife, Jackie, and two daughters, Tiffany and Ashley."
