SHELBY ANNOUNCES $1 MILLION FOR JOB ACCESS AND REVERSE COMMUTE PROGRAMS

U.S. Senator Richard C. Shelby (R-AL), Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Treasury, and General Government, today announced that $1,000,000 will be released from the Department of Transportation for Job Access and Reverse Commute (JARC) programs. These funds were secured in the fiscal year 2002 appropriations process.

This grant will be distributed to the University of Alabama for the Alabama Disabilities Advocacy Program (ADAP). The program will use the funds for JARC program assistance throughout Alabama.

Sen. Shelby said, “I am pleased to announce funding for this important program. I believe that providing job opportunities to the residents of our communities is a key component to improving the economy and enhancing the quality of life for Alabamians.”
