U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) will award $250,000 to the Fort Payne City Board of Education for the Fort Payne Innovative & New Vision for Educating Student Today program.
“To allow our students to succeed in the classroom, we must ensure that our schools have the most up-to-date tools and resources available,” said Shelby. “The Fort Payne City Schools will use this grant to purchase electronic whiteboards, projectors and student electronic response and audio systems for classrooms in the school system. This technology will provide teachers with the educational resources needed to enhance the learning experience of Fort Payne’s students.”
In addition to ARC funds, the total expected project cost of $500,000 includes $250,000 from local sources.
