U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will award $326,250 to the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) for estrogen and hippocampal plasticity research.
“UAB has proven itself time and again as one of the premier research institutions in our country,” said Shelby. “Research resulting from groundbreaking projects, such as this, will have a profound effect on the lives of people across our nation. This funding also reiterates UAB’s reputation as a leading authority on medical research.”
