SHELBY ANNOUNCES OVER $306,000 FOR YMCA OF TUSCALOOSA COUNTY

WASHINGTON, DC -- U.S. Senator Richard C. Shelby (R-AL) today announced that the U.S. Department of Justice will be releasing $306,738 for the YMCA of Tuscaloosa County.

The mission of the YMCA of Tuscaloosa County is to build strong kids, strong families, and strong communities. These funds will be used to equip at-risk teens with life-long skills to help them identify their talents, career skills, and personality type, as well as challenge them to demonstrate those skills in community service projects. The program hopes to create more opportunities for youth employment and generate enthusiasm for fulfillment of high school graduation.

Sen. Shelby said, “I am pleased to announce $306,738 for the YMCA of Tuscaloosa County. It is important that we continue to invest in our youth and provide them with the resources and encouragement to become successful members of our communities.”
