U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will award $291,538 to the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) for cancer treatment research.
“Each day, researchers at UAB are involved in cutting-edge medical research," said Shelby. “UAB is one of the premier medical research facilities in the nation. I am confident that the findings from their research will reach far beyond Alabama and help extend and improve the lives of cancer victims across our nation.”
