Shelby Announces $446,054 for Marine Sanctuary Program

U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), ranking member of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice and Science, today announced that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has awarded $446,054 to the Marine Sanctuary Program at the National Maritime Museum of the Gulf Coast of Mexico, located in Mobile, Alabama.

“It is critical that we preserve the history and cultures of Alabama’s maritime communities,” said Shelby.  “The National Maritime Museum on the Gulf Coast will house a variety of educational exhibits and programs about the ocean, including the Marine Sanctuary Program.  Upon completion, the Marine Sanctuary Program will provide the public with an inside look into marine life in the Gulf.”
