U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will award $307,472 to the University of South Alabama (USA) for heart and vascular disease research.
“Claiming nearly 2,400 Americans each day, cardiovascular disease is one of the leading killers in America,” said Shelby. “USA will use this important grant to learn more about this terrible disease. I am confident that the research conducted at USA will make important strides for the health of Americans.”
