Shelby Announces $206,250 for University of Alabama at Birmingham

U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will award $206,205 to the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) for diabetes, endocrinology and metabolic research.

“UAB is one of the premier medical schools in the nation,” said Shelby. “This funding will help ensure that the university continues to conduct cutting-edge research on some of the most serious diseases facing Americans today.”
