U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), ranking member of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice and Science, today announced that the Department of Justice’s Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention will award $313,022 to the American Village. Senator Shelby was instrumental in securing this funding.
“One of the best ways we can prevent juvenile delinquency is to reach out to children,” said Shelby. “This funding will be used to implement the American Village Kids for Character! outreach project. Through this project, fifth graders will gain knowledge and a sense of personal and civic value.”
