U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-AL), a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced today that City of Talladega will receive $500,000 from the Federal Aviation Administration for improvements at Talladega Municipal Airport.

Senator Shelby said, “I am pleased to make this announcement for the Talladega Municipal Airport. These funds will be used to relocate the taxiway which is currently too close to the runway. The relocation of the taxiway will enhance the safety of operations at the airport. I was pleased to play a role in securing these funds so the airport may continue work on its improvement efforts.”

This funding, which was secured in the federal appropriations process, will be administered through the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Improvement Program (AIP).
