SHELBY ANNOUNCES FUNDING FOR MUSCLE SHOALS FERTILIZER CENTER

Senate Passes FY 2005 Foreign Operations Appropriations Bill

U. S. Sen. Richard C. Shelby (R-Ala.), a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced Senate approval today of $4 million in funding for the International Fertilizer Development Center located in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. The FY 2005 Foreign Operations Appropriations Bill will now go to a conference committee with the House of Representatives.

Sen. Shelby said, "I am very pleased that the Senate has once again recognized the merits of this funding request and agreed to provide $4 million to further the work of the International Fertilizer Development Center in Muscle Shoals. In addition to the important research conducted at this facility, the facility employs numerous Muscle Shoals-area residents."
