Shelby Announces $200,000 for Tuskegee University

U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture will award $200,000 to Tuskegee University for its undergraduate program in Public Health Nutrition.

“The rise in obesity and other chronic diseases related to nutrition highlights the need for more public awareness about proper diet,” said Shelby.  “The Public Health Nutrition program at Tuskegee University will educate future health professionals so that they may help others make healthy lifestyle choices.”
