SHELBY ANNOUNCES OVER $660,000 FOR THE AGING INFRASTRUCTURE SYSTEM CENTER OF EXCELLENCE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA

WASHINGTON, D. C.--- U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-AL), a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced today that $661,333 will be released from the U.S. Department of Transportation to aid in the building of Aging Infrastructure System Center of Excellence at the University of Alabama.

Senator Shelby said, “These funds will be used to build the Aging Infrastructure System Center of Excellence at the University of Alabama. This center will work to develop ways to improve our nations’ transportation industry,” Shelby concluded.

Senator Shelby secured these funds in the fiscal year 2005 federal appropriations process.
