SHELBY ANNOUNCES $247,506 FOR GADSDEN TRANSPORTATION SERVICES PROJECT

U.S. Senator Richard C. Shelby (R-Ala), Chairman of the Transportation, Treasury, and General Government Appropriations Subcommittee, announced today that the Federal Transit Administration will soon be releasing $247,506 for the Gadsden Transportation Services Project. Senator Shelby secured these funds in the fiscal year 2002 appropriations process.

These funds will assist with the purchase of two replacement vans with modified lifts, bus passenger shelters, computer and communications equipment, vehicle repair needs, and administrative costs.

Sen. Shelby said, “I am pleased to make this announcement for the Gadsden Transportation Services Project. Not only will these funds improve the transportation services in the Gadsden area but will also encourage economic development by providing residents improved access to transportation.”
