SHELBY ANNOUNCES OVER $750,000 FOR FORT MORGAN-DAUPHIN ISLAND FERRY

U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-AL), Chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Treasury, and General Government, announced today that the Department of Transportation will be releasing $752,203 for the Fort Morgan-Dauphin Island Ferry. As Chairman of the Subcommittee, Senator Shelby secured these funds in the fiscal year 2004 appropriations process.

Senator Shelby said, “These funds will assist with the purchase of a ferry to operate between Fort Morgan and Dauphin Island. A new ferry will provide a reliable source of transportation to the community and will help to promote economic growth in the area.”
