U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will award $20,000 to the University of Alabama at Birmingham for HIV and AIDS research.
“UAB is one of the premier medical schools in the nation,” said Shelby. “This funding will help ensure that the university continues to conduct cutting edge research. I am confident that the results of this work will benefit many people across the United States.”
