Shelby Announces $25,000 for the City of Valley

U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will award $25,000 to the City of Valley for a brownfield sustainability pilot project.

“The City of Valley was once home to a large textile industry,” said Shelby.  “However, when the mills closed, brownfields were left behind.  Unfortunately, these brownfield sites have become a prime hindrance to economic expansion in the area. The City of Valley will use this funding to clean up its brownfield sites and redevelop the land.”
