SHELBY ANNOUNCES $149,115 FOR SELMA DOWNTOWN REVITALIZATION

U.S. Senator Richard C. Shelby (R-Ala), a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced today that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will soon be releasing $149,115 for downtown revitalization in Selma. These funds were secured in the fiscal year 2004 Consolidated Appropriations Act.

Senator Shelby said, “I am pleased that these funds are now being released to assist the City of Selma with its downtown revitalization project. Specifically, these funds will assist Selma purchase property adjacent to the historic St. James Hotel as part of their continued effort to revitalize the riverfront area.”
