U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.) will join the residents of Dallas County for a chamber lunch on Monday, February 18, 2013, at 12:00 noon Central Time. The meeting, which is open to the public, will take place at the St. James Hotel located at 1200 Water Ave., Selma, Alabama.
Senator Shelby will address the legislative agenda for the first session of the 113th Congress as well as important issues facing the nation and the state of Alabama. Following his remarks, Senator Shelby will open the floor to questions and comments from those in attendance.
“Over the years, these meetings have provided an excellent opportunity for area residents to listen and voice their opinions on the activities of our government,” said Shelby. “This will be a great chance to discuss the important issues facing our state and our nation.”
Tickets to the lunch are $15. To RSVP and purchase tickets please contact Sheryl Smedley at 334-875-7241. The meeting is open to the public and there will be additional seating for those who do not wish to purchase a ticket for lunch. Members of the media are encouraged to attend.
