These funds will aid in the installation of the 500,000-gallon elevated storage tank along with related piping and fencing. One company, Standard Furniture, has expansion plans that are contingent on the city’s ability to increase water storage. The expansion will produce 150 new jobs and will assist in the manufacturing process, warehousing and will provide needed fire protection.
Sen. Shelby said “I am pleased to make this announcement for the Frisco City. These funds will help to create new jobs and improve the city’s current water system. It is important that we take the necessary steps to continue to stimulate economic growth and improve the lives of the citizens of Frisco City.”
The DRA serves a 240-county/parish area in an eight state region and is designed to remedy severe and chronic economic distress by stimulating economic development and fostering partnerships that will have a positive impact on the region’s economy.
