SHELBY ANNOUNCES $3.35 MILLION FOR ANDALUSIA-OPP AIRPORT

WASHINGTON, D. C.--- U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-AL), a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced today that $3.35 million will be released from the Department of Transportation for improvements to be made to the Andalusia-Opp Airport.

Senator Shelby said, “These funds will allow for the Andalusia-Opp Airport to make several improvements including apron and taxiway construction, runway/taxiway extension design, land acquisition, runway overlay, and road relocation. I believe these improvements will enhance the airport’s ability to meet the growing needs of the community and encourage economic growth,” Shelby concluded.

Senator Shelby secured these funds in the fiscal year 2005 federal appropriations process.
