Senate Passes Military Construction Appropriations Conference Report
U.S. Senator Richard C. Shelby (R-AL) announces final passage of the conference report to accompany H.R. 2559, the Military Construction Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2004. Included in the bill at the request of Senator Shelby is significant military funding for Alabama and Anniston Army Depot. The bill will now be sent to the President’s desk to be signed into law.
Sen. Shelby said, “I am pleased that $1 million has been provided for planning and design of the Powertrain Maintenance Facility at Anniston Army Depot. This facility will be a flexible maintenance facility for the repair and overhaul of reciprocating engines. Additionally, the facility will be utilized for integration of all types of engine and combat vehicle power train support operations.”
In total, $59.669 million for Alabama Military Construction projects was included in the Military Construction Appropriations Act.
