Shelby Reaches 2,000th County Visit Milestone

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Thursday, May 5, 2016 – U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.) today visited Bibb County on his annual statewide tour of Alabama’s 67 counties, which marked his 2,000th county visit to date:

“Since the people of Alabama elected me to serve in the United States Senate, I have made it one of my top priorities to visit all 67 counties in Alabama every year.  I believe that in order to be an effective leader you must have frequent interaction and discussion with those you represent.  These face-to-face meetings back home serve as one of the best ways for me to learn about the issues that Alabamians care about and are impacted by the most.   I am proud to hit this milestone today, and I look forward to many more opportunities to listen to my constituents all across the great state of Alabama.”
