U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the Department of Transportation's Federal Aviation Administration has awarded $199,758 to Centre-Piedmont-Cherokee Regional Airport to improve its drainage needs.
“Investing in the infrastructure of Alabama’s local airports will not only provide the safest and most efficient transportation services for Alabamians, but will ensure that the area remains desirable for residents and businesses,” said Shelby. “Centre-Piedmont-Cherokee County Regional Airport will use this funding to improve its drainage by facilitating water movement. This improvement will help to prevent premature aging of the airport’s paving.”
