U.S. Senator Richard C. Shelby (R-AL) announces conference committee approval of the Military Construction Appropriations Bill for Fiscal Year 2003. Included in the bill at the request of Senator Shelby is significant military funding for Alabama and for Gadsden.
Included in the bill is $2.261 million for construction to improve the National Guard Readiness Center in Gadsden. This project will provide adequate space for Alabama national Guard units by renovating the existing facility and adding new construction of 16,618 square feet.
The Military Construction Appropriations Bill for Fiscal Year 2003 includes $23 million for Alabama Military Construction projects.
