U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has awarded $1,589,668 to support Alabama highway safety programs. Senator Shelby was instrumental in securing this funding.
“Each day, thousands of Alabamians travel on our state’s highways,” said Shelby. “For this reason, we must ensure that our roads remain safe. This grant will provide funding to support Alabama’s highway safety programs and address areas that need improvement.”
