SHELBY ANNOUNCES OVER $198,000 FOR SCOTTSBORO MUNICIPAL-WORD FIELD

U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-AL), a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced today that City of Scottsboro will receive $198,477 from the Federal Aviation Administration for improvements at Scottsboro Municipal-Word Field.

Senator Shelby said, “I am pleased to make this announcement for Scottsboro Municipal-Word Field. These funds will be used for land acquisition, pavement improvements, and construction of a maintenance hangar. I was pleased to play a role in securing these funds so the airport may continue work on its improvement efforts.”

This funding, which was secured in the federal appropriations process, will be administered through the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Improvement Program (AIP).
